Major objectives of Seed Laboratory Sudurpaschim are as follows;
- To help increase agriculture production and productivity through assurance of quality seed among farmers by conducting activities like seed testing, field inspection and seed certification
- To provide training and extension services related to quality seed production, processing and market management
- To monitor seed storage facilities of different seed producer organizations, seed entrepreneurs, seed company and private seed suppliers and also provide required services and suggestions to prevent the loss of seed quality
- To monitor and evaluate seed market, collect (buy) samples from seed producer organizations and private seed suppliers and test them to help maintain the seed quality
- To contribute for the execution of Seed Policy 2056, Seed Act 2045 and Seed Regulation 2069 and the guidelines implemented under them
- To prepare seed balance sheet of the province
- To conduct exhibition and experiment of improved varieties of different crops
